On a whim formulated during the Gilbert Half Marathon, Laura and her running partner, Chantel, set up a Turkey Trot for the neighborhood kids on Thanksgiving morning. Each kid donated $1 per lap around the block (1/2 mile). We had over 30 kids participate and raised more than $100 for the Crisis Nursery, a local children’s shelter. With more time to plan for next year, we hope to make it an annual and even bigger event!
