Any parents out there willing to share advice on how to keep your newborn from spitting up half a meal? Logan’s spitting up about 25% – 50% of what he eats, almost every time that he eats. While this is unpleasant (for both him & us), that’s not a huge concern. The bigger problem is that he’s then hungry about 45 minutes later. So, by the time he’s finally cleaned up from one feeding, he’s hungry all over again.
We’ve tried burping, we’ve tried not burping, we’ve tried feeding him sitting up & keeping him sitting up for 30 minutes after eating…. there’s no consistency to when he spits up and when he doesn’t. Any tips from folks who have done this before?
Our pediatrician said to burp the baby 2 or 3 times during feeding and then sit him up for 30-45 minutes after meals.
That helps a little, but the big help was the baby Zantac.
I hold some milk in my mouth and hang on to it until just the right moment. Once I’m in clean clothes or being held by an unsuspecting victim… BAM! I let it fly.
My pediatrician said the same thing years ago so I would try burping 2 to 3 times during feeding and then sit up for a while after meal.
Josh, you must have an old school doc. I like that!!
My favorite comment is from Hudson! How does he like his new little friend? I bet they had a lot to tell eachother when they got together.
We only spit up when we have too much to drink – maybe solid foods will help!
Does anyone else hear “Sweet Home Alabama” playing?
Should we call or text?
