Welcoming myself to the 21st century

I have finally, in 2008, discovered the fun in podcasts.

I know, I know, I’m only about 5 years behind, but I never really got into the podcast thing before. I wanted my iPod for music and nothing else. Audiobooks put me to sleep, and I really had no interest in listening to someone else talk about a random topic when I could be listening to music.

Brandon’s been subscribing to several podcasts for a while, but they’re all IT-related or Xbox-related, so whenever he turns them on in the car, they bore me and I fall asleep. But on our drive home from Memphis over New Year’s, one of his podcasts was actually semi-interesting and quite funny. So I resolved to find myself an interesting (to me) podcast when I got home.

I found one that I’m liking a lot – GrammarGirl. I’m a Grammar Nazi, and it’s amazing to me that someone out there has a podcast dedicated to nothing but grammar tips. I am LOVING it. The tips aren’t what I expected (which was basically a bunch of grammar tips I already know and it just drives me nuts that no one else does). Thus far, I’ve found very useful information.

Now I just wish the rest of the world would tune in and learn how to write/speak correctly!
